Individual and couples therapy

Who I see

I work with people who want someone to slow down and listen closely to their troubles and longings. You don't need a tidy explanation of what brings you here.

In person in Mid-City Los Angeles. Online across California and Connecticut.

The people I work with most

If one or more of these resonate, reach out. If they don't resonate, but you're still curious if we might be a fit, that's okay too.

Perfectionists and recovering good girls

You may be very good at being capable, reliable, and easy to be around. Maybe you know what everyone else needs, but have a harder time hearing what you want. We can get curious about people pleasing, perfectionism, and the expectations you've learned to live by. What have they made possible? What have they cost you? What would you like more room for?

Writers, actors and creative people

The rejection, the waiting, the career that does not follow a straight line. Before becoming a therapist, I wrote and produced TV for about 15 years, so I know something about that world from the inside. We can talk about creative blocks, work, money, identity, and what happens when the thing you love is also the thing that makes life uncertain.

Lesbian, queer and nonbinary couples

There isn't one right way to be in a relationship. Monogamous, open and polyamorous partnerships are welcome. I'm interested in the relationship you want to have, the ways you already care for each other, and the places where you keep getting stuck. We can make room for different needs and experiences without assuming that one person's story explains the whole relationship.

Couples navigating a gender transition

When one partner comes out as trans, there may be a lot happening at once: joy, uncertainty, questions about intimacy, and changes in how each of you understands yourself and the relationship. We can hold space for multiple realities and complexities, and get curious about what each of you needs as this chapter unfolds.

Anxiety, social anxiety, depression, self-doubt, grief, and questions about identity can be part of any of these conversations. You don't have to fit one of these descriptions to get in touch.

Working together

Your life, in your words.

My work is rooted in Narrative Therapy, which is non-pathologizing and centers the belief that you're the expert of your own life. Some of the stories you carry are yours and some were handed to you. I'll be curious about the difference.

Sessions are collaborative and tend to be conversational, unless the moment calls for a different kind of presence. We can begin with what feels most present, and let your needs and hopes guide the conversation.
