Make room for complexity
Connection, desire, trust, intimacy, and identity can all carry more than one truth at a time. There is room to take that complexity seriously.
Couples therapy in Los Angeles
When a relationship feels tender, stuck, or hard to recognise, it can help to have a place to slow down together and listen for what is happening underneath.
In person in Mid-City Los Angeles. Online across California and Connecticut.

Room for the real conversation
Whether you are experiencing mistrust, distance, stasis or a period of change, therapy can offer a way to explore how greater joy and satisfaction might become possible.
There may be a familiar argument that has started to feel impossible to leave behind. There may be something important that has gone unsaid for too long. Or there may be a shift in your life together that has made it harder to recognise the connection you once relied on.
Couples therapy can be a place to bring the parts of the relationship that need more time, care, and language, without deciding in advance what the relationship is supposed to become.
Your relationship, on its own terms
Avigail welcomes partnerships of all kinds, including monogamous, poly and open relationships.
Connection, desire, trust, intimacy, and identity can all carry more than one truth at a time. There is room to take that complexity seriously.
The work does not impose a prescribed model of intimacy or identity. We can attend to the stories each person brings, and to the values you want to centre together.
Sometimes the first useful step is a conversation that feels more honest. Sometimes it is learning how to stay present with a hard difference. We can begin with what feels most pressing now.

“It leads to each other.
We become ourselves.”Patti Smith
